Balasun First Flush 2023

Balasun is one of the famous plantations in Darjeeling, in Kurseong, just south of Darjeeling City. On 181 hectares from 365 to 1375 meters above sea level, it produces tea of various characters. Compared to our otherfirst flush from 2023, it is slightly more oxidized, and thus has a slightly darker and richer tone.

Nice green leaves, albeit more oxidized than Bannockburn. This is a little stronger, floral with a strong scent. There is sweetness here and also some bitterness. This tea can also withstand a little harder water - it's definitely interesting to try what surprises it can provide...
