Description / Tie Guan Yin Jade
A wonderful spring tea from China. Our bright Tie Guan Yin (or ti kuan yin as it is also written), has been grown at high altitudes and is easily oxidized. The leaves are green and shiny. The light yellow drink is freshly floral with a slightly fruity sweetness.
Still after many brews, it has a long aftertaste. This is a tea that is very easy to like.
Tie Guan Yin has a history of at least 200 years. It comes from Anxi in the Chinese province of Fujian. The conditions here are perfect for tea cultivation, which may be the reason why TieGuanYin has become so popular.
There is also an old saying about a man who took care of a dilapidated temple dedicated to the "goddess of iron of grace", (in Chinese: tie guan yin). As a thank you for her affection, the goddess told him that the reward for his good deeds lay behind the temple. There he found two tea plants, of which he started making this tea ...

Very good green tea

The instructions are 30 seconds of brewing and 7 rounds. This makes tea drinking more of a hobby than I have time for, and the first brew is mostly water. I brew in the pot for four or five minutes and then, despite the instructions, the tea is delicious.
