Dark pu'er cake, with lots of flavor. Also suitable for a hike!
Pu'er comes in two varieties, light ("raw") and dark ("cooked"). The light one is stored for a long time, and the flavor matures slowly, slowly. The dark variety doesn't need to be stored for as long, but also benefits from aging. This is a cake of the darker variety, made especially for us. It is pressed into a compact "bird's nest", which in Chinese is called tuo cha. As the tea is harvested in 2022, the Year of the Tiger, it has a tiger on the wrapper.
The aroma of the freshly brewed tea is sweet. The taste is malty with hints of wheat and cocoa. Slightly earthy.
