Description / Gyokuro Miyazaki
Beautiful lush gyokuro from Miyazaki in southern Japan. Fine organic tea steamed in the Japanese way. Mild and slightly sweet. May become bitter if allowed to draw in too high a temperature. Gyokuro is considered the finest Japanese tea. The bushes are covered over the last weeks before harvest, to attract extra chlorophyll and flavor in the leaves. Unlike Chinese teas that are roasted or fried, Japanese green teas are steamed, which means that they retain the intense green color. The taste also dissolves from the leaves in another way, so it is important that the tea leaves drain between the brews.

Divinely delicious!

We got a tea from a Japanese friend who visited us. It was divinely delicious, but the bag didn't say what kind of tea it was. I read the description on this site and guessed that it was this tea. When I got the tea and brewed it, it tasted the same and just as good. It was a hit!
