Description / Huang Ya
Huang Ya is an unusual - yellow - tea from Huoshan in Anhui Province. After picking, the shoots are heated in a wok, and then wrapped in a thick linen paper.
A slow oxidation takes place, the leaves are heated again, rewound, and then roasted and dried. The complicated process gives a bright yellow tea that is mild but still fragrant. A bit like something in between green and white tea.

This was the first yellow tea I tasted and it was a pleasant experience. A bit different and exciting. The tea is very aromatic, especially the first cup, but all three cups are great!
