In Sri Lanka - which we still call Ceylon in tea contexts - the teas are divided according to the height at which they grow. This is a "mid-grown", ie it grows at medium height, about 600-1200 meters above sea level.
The leaves are relatively small, twisted and with quite a few lighter leaf shoots. The taste is full-bodied with hints of dried fruit. Kandy has nothing to do with sweets, but is the name of a Sri Lankan tea district.
