Description / Aztec Blend

Aztec Blend is a black tea with a bite! Aromatic chocolate flavor and peppery chili give it a very special character. Very flavorful, the spiciness gives an extra warming sensation. Chocolate as we know it comes mainly from Central America, and both the Maya and the Aztecs used cocoa beans both as a drink and as currency. The Aztecs in particular considered chocolate to be a gift from the gods. Sugar was not so common, but they flavored their chocolate with vanilla, flowers or chili! The ruler Moctezuma (Montezuma) was known to drink liters of chili chocolate every day. Now, they had many strange and violent elements in their culture, but chocolate is on the lighter side. This spicy tea is great when you want to warm up!

Very good tea. I love the combination of chocolate and chili, and this tea did not disappoint! Plenty of flavor. The chili adds a mild but warming heat and the chocolate rounds off nicely.
