Our tea blend S:t Olav® has been named "Sweden's best local tea blend" by the podcast Produktivitéet. In the podcast, they try different teas, and invited us to a competition this spring. We wondered whether we should send in St. Olav or Frösöblomster, as both varieties are popular. Since St. Olav with its forest flavor is the most unique, it was the one that we chose to compete.
It was the "uniqueness" that we realized made the difference in the competition. Our partner who helped us find the ingredients had never seen anything like it. St. Olav contains both spruce needles and juniper berries, giving it a forest feel. It is an organic tea, and contains only natural ingredients and aromas. What we wanted to accomplish with it, was to give a little feeling of forest that you get when you walk along the St. Olavsleden trail that runs from Selånger (near Sundsvall) to Trondheim. There are quite a few people who hike this trail, and quite a few usually stop by our place, as the trail passes Östersund where we have our shop.
You should try St. Olav. It's a different flavor, and many customers say they had to drink a few cups before they got used to the taste. But then they get stuck... ;)
